Role overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanical Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will oversee the day-to-day mechanical production activities, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality output, and continuous improvement within our manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in driving performance, leading a skilled team, and contributing to the success of our cutting-edge projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of mechanical production staff to meet and exceed production targets and quality standards.
• Plan and organise production schedules to optimise workflow and resource utilisation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality assurance procedures, and company policies.
• Monitor and analyse production metrics, identifying areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues and implement enhancements.
• Support training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports for senior management review.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies within the production environment.

Required qualifications & skills

• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within mechanical production or manufacturing environments, preferably in aerospace, defence, or related engineering sectors.
• Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality control standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Demonstrable experience of implementing continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Proficient in production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Good IT skills, including familiarity with production management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Health and Safety awareness with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Relevant technical or vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or equivalent) are desirable.
