Role overview

We are seeking a skilled Thermal Plastic Welder to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is essential to our continued success, requiring precision, technical knowledge, and a commitment to quality. You will be responsible for welding various thermal plastic materials used in our manufacturing processes, ensuring all work meets strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform thermal plastic welding using specialised equipment and techniques to join plastic components accurately and efficiently.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete welding tasks to the highest standards.
  • Inspect welded joints to ensure quality, integrity, and compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
  • Maintain and calibrate welding equipment, reporting any faults or required repairs promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities and material usage.

Required qualifications & skills

  • Proven experience as a Thermal Plastic Welder or in a similar role within the Manufacturing & Industrial sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of thermal plastic welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to welding and manufacturing environments.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.

Desirable qualifications

  • Relevant welding certification or NVQ qualifications.
  • Experience working in aerospace or defence manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
