Role overview
As a Thermal Plastic Fabricator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our manufacturing operations by expertly fabricating and assembling thermal plastic components used in high-performance aerospace and defence applications. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will directly impact the quality and reliability of our products.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble thermal plastic parts and components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Operate specialised equipment including heat guns, ovens, and vacuum forming machines to shape and join plastics.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve fabrication processes and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, fabrication processes, and quality inspections.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organised working environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and development to stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications & experience
- Proven experience as a Thermal Plastic Fabricator or in a similar manufacturing/fabrication role.
- Strong knowledge of thermal plastic materials, fabrication techniques, and equipment operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail to achieve precise fabrication outcomes.
- Understanding of quality control procedures and commitment to producing defect-free work.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Relevant vocational qualifications in fabrication, plastics technology, or a related discipline are advantageous.
